Producer/Director/Cinematographer - Jay Spain is a nationally recognized filmmaker based in Raleigh, North Carolina. Spain grew up in the biz developing a solid technical background. Jay has co-produced and photographed several features, winning an international prize for the film noir Chesterfield. Jay shot films for various broadcast and educational clients before directing his first feature documentary, Live and Let Go: An American Death. The film has won public and critical acclaim being broadcast first on public television in 2004. After premiering at the 2007 Full Frame Documentary Film Festival, Moving Midway, his collaboration with Godfrey Cheshire and Vin Farrell, brings the drama of the historic southern plantation to theatres in Fall 2008. Producing with David Iversen and Ed Slattery, Jay is currently directing the films A Thousand Brothers & Sisters, and In Her Own Voice both scheduled for release in 2008.
Producer/Writer/Editor - Barron Blackman has been producing professionally for over 25 years. His background includes producing live stage theater and dance, as well as film & television. His first broadcast TV show, Rob & Bill's TalkShow, was nominated for an Emmy Award. In the corporate world, Barron's regular clients have included Motorola, Group Schneider, Microspace, etc. Barron has been with cgroup for over 4 years, and has had his hand in writing and producing such diverse projects such as product launch videos, live webstreamed conferences, commercials, syndicated television programs, and documentaries. Barron holds an MFA from the Producer's Program at UCLA, in addition to his many years of on the job training and experience.
Producer/Director/Cinematographer - Edward Slattery has been shooting films since the late 1980's, his credits include feature films (Manna From Heaven, Temps), short films (Leaving The Post, Perfect Goosey's, Hitchcocked) documentaries (Moving Midway, In Her Own Voice, Healing Hands Africa) as well as commercials, industrials and television programs.
Director/Writer/Editor - David Iversen is a 1989 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where he received a B.A. in Broadcast/Cinema. As a principal with cgroup, he produces, edits and directs film and video projects, and specializes in computer graphics and web design. David has handled corporate projects for clients including IBM, GlaxoSmithKline and Shriner's Children's Hospital. He was the writer/director/editor of the award-winning 35mm feature film Chesterfield in 1997. In 2001, he edited the award-winning feature documentary, Live and Let Go - An American Death. He is the principal writer, editor and director for A Thousand Brothers & Sisters, an historical retrospective documentary for the Masonic Home for Children at Oxford, NC.
Producer/Art Director - Jon Goldman Called a "digital renaissance man" by the Boston Globe, Jon Goldman is an award-winning media artist. His recent work has included producing and directing for Al Jazeera English, producing and directing innovative animations for PBS and co-developing an animated webisode series with Jim Uhls, screenwriter for the film Fight Club and the recently released film Jumpers. In addition to film, Goldman is a prolific graphic designer having done extensive work in branding and identity for a wide variety of clients. While his concentration is currently focused on digital video his work is informed by his training as a painter, a kinetic sculptor and a director for the stage. Mr. Goldman received his Masters in Science in Visual Studies at MIT (1985) at the Center for Advanced Visual Studies and has won many awards including an InterArts grant from the NEA and Rockefeller Foundation for his computer-controlled interactivity with the inflatable sculpture. Goldman currently runs his studio, THOUGHT BALLOON MEDIA, which serves as a laboratory for the development and exhibition of new work. His past innovative work of gigantic inflatable sculptures have been exhibited in and on museums and galleries throughout the U.S., Japan, Korea and Hong Kong and have been for a range of clients from Disney to Trump, to ABC and Nickelodeon. His work is in many collections including the Smithsonian's Cooper Hewitt National Museum of Designís permanent collection.
